Shortly after the introduction of the draconian Anti-Homosexuality Act (the AHA) in February and a HIV/AIDS clinic being shut down over false claims of "recruiting" homosexuals earlier this month (see previous blog post) a new bill has be drafted in Uganda that closes loopholes in the AHA and places strict restrictions on foreign NGOs. This will make HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment impossible for members of the LGBT community in Uganda.
"There are some NGOs who have come here to undermine us, to promote very bad behavior like homosexuality," junior internal affairs minister, James Baba told Reuters on Monday. "As a responsible government we need to check that. They [the NGOs] will not be able to do that when we pass this law."
Homophobic UK Evangelical Preacher Paul Shinners still escapes justice for his Human Rights Crimes and sees himself as a Messiah...
Paul Shinners, the head of a Registered Charity based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire stood on stage at an anti-gay rally in Uganda hosted by Bishop David Kiganda (a vocal member of the anti-gay movement there) and spoke in favour of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill while it still included the DEATH PENALTY, saying it was a clear stand for God. “There is no other nation world over that has such a plan and through this, Uganda is going to be blessed,” he said.
Since the issue came to light in the UK all Paul has said publicly on the subject (in a statement to local papers) is that he's "never said anything homophobic" but he refused to define what he thought homophobia meant when I asked him to clarify his statement. He laughed at me repeatedly when I asked his views on Homosexuality and when pressed for an answer he said if he told me he won't tell me because" I would just use it against him" (so he clearly isn't as accepting of homosexuals as he makes out).
In his cafe, however his TRUE views have home out. He doesn't accept homosexuality as a genuine, natural sexual orientation saying: "Homosexuality is a lifestyle choice."
He also performs exorcisms in his "Healing Room" at the back of his cafe on Thursday evenings. He refers to these exorcisms as "Deliverances" and he is obsessed with demons and believes demons are everywhere and can cause anything from a headache to falling over at work. He told me that children are born disabled because of the devil and I sincerely hope he doesn't perform these bizarre exorcisms on his autistic children.
Shinners claims to be able to cure any illness or disease. He claims he can heal the blind and fix bad backs and damaged spines. He even claims on his website that he can cure all trace of Cancer. Paul Shinners has said on a number of occasions that he is "like Jesus" and "because [he] can cure people like Jesus did, people want to kill him like they did Jesus". He has made numerous claims to a number of people that he has had a stream of death threats, but there is no evidence of this and is in all probability a lie to back up his delusions. A textbook case of a Messiah Complex and probably suffers from Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia. He should probably be in a padded cell, not the head of a UK Charity that funds Human Rights abuses in Africa. Shinners is a compulsive liar and often lies unnecessarily. He has lied to me, the local papers, the Charity Commission and a number of other individuals more times than I can count. He even claimed to some people that he had never been to Uganda and was being confused with someone else.
Paul Shinners needs to be stripped of his Registered Charity status and he should be brought to justice over his hate crimes and breaches of International Human Rights Laws.
